Instructions for camera-ready papers


The Proceedings of the workshop will be published as a book by Kluwer Academic Publishers. The title of the book will be: "Discrete Event Systems: Analysis and Control".

As the publisher demands uniformity in all the contributions, detailed instructions are provided below for preparing the camera-ready version of your final manuscript. Final manuscripts which do not adhere to these instructions will NOT be included in the book. Send the postscript file or pdf file of your final paper by email to wodes2000@systems.rug.ac.be with as subject "Final version: Paper ID". All contributions should reach us not later than: May 8, 2000. Papers which arrive later than the above date will NOT be included in the book.

The page limit is as follows:

  • Regular papers and papers in special sessions: 8 book pages,
  • Short papers: 4 book pages,
  • Tool demonstrations: 2 book pages.

A mandatory page charge is imposed on all papers exceeding the above page limit The charge is 50 Euro for every two additional book pages and is a prerequisite for publication. Hence:
1 additional page 50 Euro
2 additional pages 50 Euro
3 additional pages 100 Euro
4 additional pages 100 Euro
5 additional pages 150 Euro
...
Payment can be done while registering.

The style files and templates provide page numbers. Authors should not worry about them and leave them unchanged. For the final book these will be changed by the publisher.

MS-Word

Use the template kapproc.dot which is packed in a self extracting file archive available at http://www.wkap.nl/kaphtml.htm/WORDSTYLES. There are file archives for MS Word 6/7 and for MS Word 8/97 for the PC platform. For questions on the usage of the template, we kindly refer you to the KapChap.doc which comes with this archive.

Do NOT insert a sub-title.

Make sure that the title of the book (DISCRETE EVENT SYSTEMS: ANALYSIS AND CONTROL) appears as a running head on the even (left-hand side) numbered pages. This title should be in high caps.

Put the title of your paper as a running head on the odd (right-hand side) numbered pages. This title should be in normal caps. If your title is too long to fit in the running head, insert a shorter title.
